Anatomy: Human anatomy is the study of the shape
and structure of the human body and its parts. It includes the study
of how structures develop, their microscopic organization and the
inter relation of structures. This is achieved by training the students
through cadaver dissection, microscopic study of tissues and organs,
and the study of surface and radiological anatomy.
Physiology:
Physiology is the subject that deals with the study of normal functions
of the body. It consists of four well-equipped and spacious laboratories
and a research laboratory with the back up of an animal house. The
most modern teaching aids like Physiographs, 4-Channel Polygraphs,
and microscopes are available. |
| Community Medicine: The department of community
medicine focuses on cost effective and innovative medical education
and primary health services. The department will try to inculcate
altruistic love for humanity and service mentality in students.
The aim is to prepare the students with knowledge, skills and attitude
to function as the first level physicians who are competent to deliver
comprehensive healthcare in rural and urban settings in accordance
with the institutional goals, national health policy and global
consensus. Aims to seek not only to relieve the immediate suffering
of those in need, but also to pursue long-range solutions to the
endemic health and social problems of the region. |

Biochemistry: Biochemistry is the language of life,
it is the science concerned with the chemical constituents of living
cells. Biochemistry encompasses the study of cell biology, molecular
biology and molecular genetics. The aim of biochemistry is to explain,
in molecular terms, all chemical processes of living cells. In the
present era, Biochemistry has become an essential subject in medical
science to understand the concept of mechanism for the maintenance
of normal health.
Pathology: It the backbone of surgery and offers
comprehensive testing capabilities. Its well equipped laboratories
give practical training to students and also help the surgeons in
procedures to the adpoted to relieve pain. Fully equipment with
latest equipments which help in accuracy and precision of reports. |
| Micro Biology: Microbiology deals with living organisms
that are ordinarily too small to be seen without magnification,
and the natural history of micro-organisms, microbe-human interactions
and microbe-environmental interactions. These studies have resulted
in tremendous achievements in genetics, metabolism, drug therapy,
immunology and genetic engineering. The practical use of Microbiology
is to achieve the three goals viz prevention, early diagnosis and
treatment of diseases. |
 |
Forensic Medicine: Forensic Medicine deals with
the application of Medical Knowledge for the purpose of Law. The
students will learn how to handle cases of injury, poisoning, sexual
assault, medico-legal autopsies etc, document the findings, issue
certificates and tender evidence in courts of Law. The observance
of legal and ethical principles in medical practice will be emphasized.
Active steps are being taken to develop a Poison Control, analytical
Toxicology Lab and DNA Finger Printing facilities.
Pharmacology: Pharmacology (Greek-Pharmacon=drug;logos=discourse
in) is the detailed scientific study of drugs, particularly their
actions (beneficial and harmful) on living animals and man, organs
or tissues. The main objective is to optimize drug therapy. The
laboratory is fully equipped for drugs testing also. |
